Space Science and Remote Sensing
Space Science & Remote Sensing is a broad, challenging and exciting field of scientific inquiry that involves asking large questions about our world and then developing the scientific instruments to start looking for answers. Those instruments usually ride in satellites and operate by either looking down at the earth, looking out into space, or monitoring the space environment in the vicinity of the satellite.
COM DEV’s Space Science & Remote Sensing group provides a wide range of services for prospective customers. These include system engineering, optical/RF design, thermal and structural analysis, electronics design, embedded software development, ground support equipment, integration and test, and flight operations support.
COM DEV has been actively involved in space science and remote sensing projects since 1985, developing hardware and software as a prime contractor and a major subcontractor on a wide variety of programs. We are currently working on NASA's James Webb Space Telescope — a very powerful satellite which will be the premier space observatory for the decade to come.
